Burg Eltz on the Mosel

Life in Langen, Germany

Here a couple of recent photos of Ethan learning to ride his big boy bike and dressing up and going to his best buddy's birthday party. Lena is the princess and Ethan, the pirate.

More of Paris....

You can't go wrong in Paris!

In September we spent 5 days in Paris and had such a great time. We were glad Ethan handled being dragged around such a large city with grace and dignity (yah right--he did some melting down). We spent more time in parks and less time in museums, but we were excited to see a whole new side of Paris. Ethan cannot wait to go back.

The end of a wonderful vacation

This is the medieval town of Pennautier where we stayed while visiting the Carcassonne area. That black and white makes it look even older, huh?

Another shot of our town.

Don't ask me what Steve and Ethan are doing in a beehive.

We stayed at a farmhouse in Massif Central on our way home. It was so authentic there were termites eating the walls in the room we where we slept. We couldn't see them, but we heard them just fine. All in all though, it was another fantastic experience. Ethan loved chasing the animals around.

Roussillon and Carcassonne

Theresa in Roussillon (Provence). Where I did lots of shopping.

Steve and Theresa in Roussillon.

Carcassonne was fantastic. And the other 5,000 tourists thought so too!

Our night in shining armor.

Just another day in France....

Theresa and Ethan checking out a cathedral somewhere in the Alsace region. We are on our way to the French Riviera.

Ethan with his cousin Sophie in Roussillon, France.

Ethan with his two favorite girls in the whole world--Arianna and Soph--in Cassis on the coast near Marseille.

Below is another Cassis shot. The scenery was spectacular.

Brugge, Belgium

In June we decided to check out the famous "Venice of the North," Brugge. The weather was not so great, but we had a really good time seeing the sites, riding boats, and drinking beer.

Summer fun

Here is Ethan taking advantage of one of the few summer days we HAD in Germany with his buddy Greta. And we went to the see my nephew graduate, so here are all the cousins together!

Den Haag

Steve had a business trip to Den Haag, so Ethan and I decided to join him there. After 7 hours of trememdous traffic, we arrived and had a good time. We visited the city, saw tulip gardens, and went to the beach.

Amsterdam Spring 2007

Theresa got a chance to visit Amsterdam in the Spring without hubby and kid. It was beautiful (in more ways that one). Check out the first photo--it is the skinniest house in Amsterdam and is hardly wider than the door.

Speyer Teknik Museum

In March we went to really cool museum where you could roam through planes, u-boats, helicopters, and trains. Some of the planes had slides coming off them that were super fast! Ethan didn't enjoy his ride much. Maybe that is what happened to his hair????

Our weekend in Vienna

In February, we made a little weekend trip to Vienna to check out the sites. We had a great time even though it was cold! We had lots of great coffee, hot chocolate, and Austrian pastries. Then we walked it all off in the museums. Ethan was a trooper!

Ethan's 3rd Birthday

Ethan had 3 parties for his big 3rd birthday. The blue tongue comes from the traditional Carvel icecream cake that we can actually get here on base. We had another party at home for his neighborhood buddies. They decorated cupcakes, had Kinder Egg races, and battered a pinata. The last party was at mini-kindergarten where Ethan was king for the day! What a deal, huh?
